nice to meet you!
Hi! I’m Olivia, an artist living in Minneapolis, MN, with my lovely partner Irie, and our wonderful cat, Bijou.
I graduated from the University of Minnesota-Duluth in 2024 with an Acting BFA, Musical Theatre BFA, and Art Minor.
As a multi-hyphenate artist, I’m always making something. I love working on new plays, heightened text, contemporary dance/movement pieces, writing songs, poems, and more! In my home art studio, I spend hours throwing all kinds of media at a canvas. I make hyper-colorful, abstracted, illustrative work, and I’m always looking for new supplies and ideas to play around with!
I’m one half of Little Lamp Theatre Company, a theatrical duo created in collaboration with Irie Unity. This past summer, we produced our play, One Who is Home, at the Minnesota Fringe festival. Irie is also an actor, photographer, and multimedia artist, so our little apartment is full of creative energy; transforming into whatever we need from a photo studio, to a writer’s room, to a scene shop.
A common thread in my artistic practice is a love of learning. My favorite places are sketchbooks, notebooks, rehearsal rooms, and studios, because I love asking questions. It’s about the process, and sometimes the messiest sketches are the most interesting.
When I’m not in the studio, you can find me gathering knowledge and inspiration; sketching at local coffee shops, the library, or outside near lakes and trees. I love seeing plays around town, and supporting smaller companies and artists in the Twin Cities and Duluth areas.
My goal is to keep collaborating and creating, to further understand and brighten our world. There is joy in reconnecting to childlike whimsy, as well as creating to express the hard stuff. I believe art and creativity can be forces for good, and I’m excited to see what’s next.
-Olivia
