Little Lamp Theatre Company
is the result of creative collaboration between myself and Irie Unity. (My partner in art and in life!)
We’re a two-person team of queer, female-presenting actors who make new theatrical works. We love practical lighting, relatable narratives, and big feelings all on a barebones scale. We’re on a mission to make the work we want to see: rich, epic stories and roles for actors like us!
The essence of our company was born in college; both of us pursuing our BFAs and seeking out even deeper artistic fulfillment. We wanted to make theatre in every aspect, but found that there was a culture that “actors aren’t allowed” to do certain theatrical jobs.
In response to this, we wrote, performed in, designed, and self directed our short play, One Who is Home, for UMD’s inaugural Lab Series season. It went well! And as we’ve continued to develop this piece together, we’ve decided that we should keep going!
